I have listed some resources that my son seen in this picture utilized to start off his career path to becoming a pilot as well as some additional resources that you may find helpful. I will continue to update new resources as I find them. I hope this helps you towards your aviation goals.

Aviation Resources: List

STEM FLIGHTS MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL, THE AGE RANGE IS 11-18. NO-COST FLIGHT EXPERIENCES FOR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS 

No-cost flight experiences for Middle and High School Students 

Volunteer pilots (Pilot Mentors) are paired with students in their community. STEM Flights is available in all 50 states.  

How much time does a STEM Flight take? 


A. From start to finish, your STEM Flight experience will take about 4 hours. This is an estimated time breakdown to guide you through.

Online Application:  10 minutes

Call with Pilot Mentor: 10 - 20 minutes

Self study of online STEM Curriculum:  1 hour

Airport Meeting and Flight Experience: 2 hours (45-60 minutes of flight time)

Follow up Survey:  5 minutes

Resource exploration:  30 minutes

Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of minorities in all aviation and aerospace careers.

BLACK PILOTS OF AMERICA

Black Pilots of America, Inc. (BPA, Inc) is a non-profit flying organization. This organization trains youth to participate and advance in various types of employment within the field of aviation.

COMTO - CONFERENCE OF MINORITY TRANSPORTATION OFFICIALS

Their mission is to ensure opportunities and maximum participation in the transportation industry for minority individuals, veterans, people with disabilities and certified MWDBE businesses through leadership training, professional development, scholarship and internship funding, political advocacy, partnership building and networking opportunities.

TUSKEGEE NEXT

Building on the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen, Tuskegee NEXT provides a clear path to aviation careers for at-risk youth. My son obtained his Private Pilot License from this program for free.

CIVIL AIR PATROL (CAP)

AOPA 

AOPA is a non-profit political organization that advocates for general aviation. AOPA's membership consists mainly of general aviation pilots in the United States. FREE membership for ages 13 to 18.

This organization promotes the aspirations of collegiate and pre-collegiate students and technical professionals in engineering and technology.

WOMEN IN AVIATION INTERNATIONAL

WAI membership is open to women and men from all segments of the aviation industry and in all stages of their career. You can find scholarships through their organizations.

THE NINETY-NINES, INC

THE NINETY-NINES, INC is an international organization of licensed women pilots from 44 countries - They currently have thousands of  members throughout the world. They are a non-profit, charitable membership corporation holding 501(c)(3) U.S. tax status. The headquarters is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. You can also find scholarships through this organizations.
