MY INSPIRATION

I founded Aviation Information and Resources For Black Youth because four years ago when my son was 16 he told me he wants to be a commercial pilot, but he has never seen a black pilot. That broke my heart to know that my son wanted to have a career that he thought was impossible because of his race. From that moment I promised my son that I will do everything I can to help him achieve his goal.

My son took his first flight at the age of seventeen and two years later at the age of 19 he obtained his Private Pilot license through the Tuskegee NEXT program. He is now 23 years old commercial pilot instrument rating and is currently working on his commercial license. My son has achieved so much in a short time with hard work, determination and opportunities he was able to get at a young age. My passion to find these opportunities to help my son become a pilot has inspired me to want to help all the young black youth pursuing careers in aviation. I know this is not an easy road and you can feel discouraged when searching on how to start on your path, but I will do my best to share as many aviation programs and information as I can with you. Please do not give up there is always a path to your success and I hope I can help guide you there.

Take some time to explore the blog, read something interesting, and feel free to reach out if you would like to collaborate on a project together.
