A Flight Operations (Flight School) intern will assist in achieving divisional goals and contributing to the overall success of Delta Air Lines. NASA, Texas Space Grant Consortium, and The University of Texas at Austin Center for Space Research Summer Intern Program is a nationally competitive STEM program for high school students. The program provides selected students with exposure to Earth and space research. Interns will learn how to interpret NASA satellite data while working with scientists and engineers in their chosen area of work.

A: The only costs are for your transportation to/from Austin and any incidentals. SEES provides transportation to/from the airport and dorm, dorm costs, meals, and activities. We do have travel scholarships for students in need. Requesting a travel scholarship has no bearing on acceptance into the program.

Academy participants experience research under circumstances similar to those faced by aerospace professionals. In addition to a team research project, the program includes invited lectures on technical subjects, weekly discussions with NASA professionals, and use of NASA research facilities.

Each intern is supervised and supported by a DOT mentor, and professional development workshops are provided by DOT and The Washington Center.
Compensation includes a $4,000 stipend for undergraduate students, or a $5,000 stipend for graduate and law school students. Sponsorship covers the cost of the program and, only if held in-person, fully-furnished housing (if needed) and roundtrip travel to your assignment location (if your permanent residence is more than 50 miles away). You will be responsible for living expenses and local transportation.
The Delta Connection Co-Op will be primarily assigned to the Performance and Planning team but will also interact with the other business units. The Co-Op will gain experience in a wide range of activities and be an integral member of the team.

Hermeus is a startup developing hypersonic aircraft to radically accelerate air travel. At Mach 5, more than twice the speed of the supersonic Concorde, passengers will be able to cross the Atlantic in 90 minutes. On the path to hypersonic passenger aircraft, Hermeus is partnering with government agencies including the US Air Force and NASA to develop a series of autonomous aircraft that derisk the technology and solve urgent national security challenges. These products provide the data and confidence necessary to certify, produce, operate, and maintain safe and comfortable commercial aircraft.
